(Climb date: Saturday November 27, 2010)
First ice climb of the season. Went with TJ and Heather into the Ghost for a nice easy day on THOS. TJ is recovering from a broken wrist and it was Heather's first real day of ice climbing, so THOS was a great choice.
TJ and I solo'ed the ice and Heather only took a belay on the long sections of ice. Heather is a 5.11 sport climber so she adapted quickly to the grade 3 ice. We only climbed the gully section and didn't head up into the upper cirque, but most of the lines looked great!
Took the walk off trail, tough to find in many places, but quick descent.
Always a treat to be in the Ghost.

My buddy Jason is off to South America for about 9 months and is storing a pile of climbing gear in my basement. He knew his Nomics would get lonely, so I am trying to keep them happy. Back in the day, 15 years ago, I could lead grade 5 ice on straight shaft Charlet Moser Pulsars, now I usually lead ice once a season. Blogging about Jason's tool usage is motiving me to get out more and do some climbing this season!
